Fallcon Fun!

I was selling my 64 page mini comic Craneon last weekend at Minnesota's biggest comic convention, the Fallcon. Above is a drawing I penciled there.

It was a lot of fun to sit with Sam Hiti. He's a great artist. I didn't buy a lot, but the stuff I got was pretty cool.

My new comic, Craneon is finished. It's 55 pages long, and took me a very long time to finished.

Right now, June 20th 1:15 pm, I have 35 pages done in my new comic book Craneon. Right now I have to replace some pages that have bad art, then that number will go up.

Old Man McCurtis

I'm done with my latest comic titled Old Man McCurtis. It was printed two days ago and I finished stapling earlier today.

For those of you who make comics, you know how good it is to see it all finaly done.

And about my next comics, at the same time as I was working on Old Man McCuris, I've been working on Craneon, which now has 23 pages done. Also, in a few minutes I have a friend who's coming over to work on our comic collaboration, but that's too early to talk about.

Our yearbooks for school just came today. They were really late, I dont know if it was because of the yearbook comitee or the publisher, but they were supposed to come a long time ago. The theme of this years yearbook was pirates. I heard this in social studies and drew this guy in math when I finished my homework.
Usually every year, someone asks why I didn't join the yearbook commitee. I don't because it takes you out of class and you get more homework.

I drew this with an average pen then colored it when I got home with Prisma Color Markers. I recommend these to all. The paper I used was this thick paper we have in class. He had a hook but it got cut off.

Name: Gordon Purcell

Works: Justice League Unlimited and Snakes on a Plane

Gordon Purcell is a good artist because in an issue of Justice Leaugue Unlimited he did, he made the characters look unique. He's also done other work for DC like "Battle for Bludhaven" and "Snakes on a Plane", which was adapted from the movie.

Well, thats all for the convention. I'll start posting art again soon.

Works: Writer on Scooby-Doo, professional wrestler
Terrence is friends with one of my Grandma's friends. We met him a few years ago when he was speaking in a panel talking about comics and animation. In such a small page limit, he still makes his stories funny, yet has a mystery.

Name: Patrick Gleason
Works: Being an awesome penciler on popualar DC titles such as Green Lantern Corps, Aquaman, and Robin.
I told him these pictures were going on my blog so I hope he posts. I've seen Gleason at many of these Micro and Fall cons and I think Free Comic Book Day at the Source once too. His work on Green Lantern Corps makes it fun to read, because of his alien fighting scenes and bizzare looking heroes, along with the hilarious Guy Gardner.

Recently I attended the Microcon. Because I brought a camera, I can show you the people I met. Above is the place where it was at. Below is the first two people I talked to.

Name: Terry Beatty
Works: He's an inker on The Batman Strikes. Also made Batman Adventures (which is really good).
Terry Beatty was the first artist I've met at a convention. He's working with Chris Jones on Batman Strikes and makes his pencils shine!

Name: Christopher Jones
Works: The Batman Strikes (with Terry Beatty from above) and the hilarious Dr. Blink.
The second person I saw at the Microcon, Chris is working on The Batman Strikes and Dr. Blink.
He's talented because in Batman, he has to use Jeff Matsuda's style from the show, yet still makes the comic look unique. He also gives me good art advice.

That's right, I'm making a new Captain Amazing book with a cover by ArmorQuest's Sherwin Schwartzrock. The picture here is Sherwin's first rough of the cover. It'll guest star Bernard, also from ArmorQuest.

Sherwin recently gave me an art assignment to draw realistically so I can get a better style. He's always helped me before, so I'm taking his advice. The thing is, i'm not the greatest at that, so this will be fun.

Even before this, I've sometimes worked on drawing real people (that reminds me, I made a drawing of the Addams Family I should post...). So I'll be posting some of that. I'll end here because I'm going to go draw Dwight from The Office.

So me and Sherwin Schwartzrock entered Fist A Cuffs and our team, The Fonts of Death, was beaten by votes in the first round. But fear not, reader of reading, they will return in comic book form on the FAC website soon in a comic which I wrote and illustrated. I'll post a link when it happens. There's still some good teams left so if you want to vote, go to www.fistacuffs.blogspot.com

Oh! Remember the High Heeled Chrusher? He'll be in the comic too. If your not familiar with the character, look at the older posts. And even after the comic, he's not done yet...
